She loved the smell of wet dirt the way others might love the smell of roses

About Me

I was one of those kids who made mud pies and loved helping my mom out in the garden. That translated to creating flower pots as an adult. Designed to bring happiness, because what is life without a little joy.

Out in the wild is my favorite place to be, it is where I find my inspiration and peace.

…and the best clay!

About My Work

I have been working with clay since the fall of 2019. I currently use either a high fire stoneware or locally dug clay, also high fire. Everything is reduction fired to cone 10 in big gas kilns at the ceramics studio of Pensacola State College. The glazes come from the studio as well, not commercially made, from scratch! My favorite clay to use is the stuff I dig up locally. I have learned so much about Pensacola history because of this clay, did you know they city used to have its own brick factory and made bricks from this very same clay! Below are pictures of the raw clay and my first piece I ever made from it.
